Speak up!
Empowering victims
Empowering victims
These two pocket booklets for het health department of the city of The Hague I made together with my new business partner Roeland Otten. The first one is ment for primary school children and explains the fact that children have rights. As a child you have the right to grow up without violence and if there is a problem you and your family have the right to get the support you need. But to get those rights, you need to speak up…
The folding methode of this booklet makes you turn the page and gives a sense of a roadmap, following a path to a better future.
The second book is aimed at teens, who already are somewhat independent. The problems at home are no longer their problems. Often this results in an emotional distance, sometimes in an emotional blockade.
The teens who often seem to cope, later run into problems like depression or addiction.
We illustrated this dead end approach as a maze. Showing there are choices, diffrent paths to take; asking for help or talking about problems gives a better outlook on life (statistically).
